Connect Linear to CraftNote Desktop and chat can read the issues assigned to you and turn the action items from a meeting into Linear issues — when you ask it to.
Overview
What connecting Linear does
Once connected, CraftNote’s chat can read your Linear work and create issues from your notes. It’s driven by you: chat only creates an issue when you ask it to in the conversation. Available on CraftNote Desktop.
What chat can do with it
Read the issues assigned to you, search issues across your workspace, and create new issues from the action items in a meeting — for example, “open Linear issues for the action items from today’s standup”. Chat picks up what was decided and files it where the work happens.
Read plus issue-create only
The connection can read your issues and create new ones — and nothing more. It cannot update, close, delete or reassign issues, and it has no admin access to your Linear workspace.

Connect Linear
The Linear connector is available in the CraftNote desktop app for Mac. You’ll need a Linear account.
Open Connectors
In the CraftNote desktop app (Mac), go to Settings → Connectors and find Linear under “Your tools”.
Linear isn’t available on mobile or the web app — it’s a desktop connector.
Authorise in Linear
Click Connect. CraftNote opens Linear’s consent screen in your browser at linear.app/oauth/authorize. Approve access, and CraftNote picks the connection up automatically.
The consent screen asks for read access and permission to create issues — nothing else.
Ask chat to file issues
Back in CraftNote, ask chat things like “create Linear issues for the action items from this meeting”. It reads what was decided and files the issues for you.
If you belong to more than one Linear team, chat will ask which team to file the issue in.

What CraftNote can and can’t do in Linear
The OAuth scope is “read” plus “issues:create”. Even if the model tried, it can’t act outside that scope.
What Linear can access

What Linear can’t access
Out of scope, intentionally.
- No updating, closing, deleting or reassigning issues
- No admin access, no comments, and no projects — creating an issue is the only write it can do
- No filing without you asking — issue creation is chat-driven, on request
- A hard limit of ten issues per request, with duplicate titles skipped
Control
How to disconnect
You can disconnect from CraftNote at any time. It revokes the token and removes the connection — chat can no longer read your tasks or create issues.
From CraftNote Desktop
Settings → Connectors → Linear → Disconnect
Revokes CraftNote’s access and removes the connection. Your Linear data is untouched — nothing that was already created is changed.
Troubleshooting
Common questions
Does it create Linear issues automatically?
No. Issue creation is chat-driven and on request — CraftNote only creates issues when you explicitly ask it to in the conversation, for example “open issues for these action items”. Nothing is filed in the background.
Which team and project does it file into?
If you belong to a single Linear team it uses that one; if you’re on more than one, chat asks which team to file in. Project selection isn’t supported — issues are filed at the team level.
Can it change or close my existing issues?
No. The scope is read plus issue-create only. It can read your assigned issues and create new ones, but it cannot update, close, delete or reassign anything, and it has no workspace admin access.
Is there a limit on how many issues it creates?
Yes. There’s a hard cap of ten issues per request, and issues with a title that already exists are skipped, so a single ask can’t flood your board.
Is Linear available on mobile?
No. The Linear connector is in the CraftNote desktop app for Mac. It isn’t available in the mobile or web app.
